Terms of Use
Effective July 31, 2026.
Purpose
EagleBase is an independent, community-built archive intended to preserve and share information about Eagle Scout service projects. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Scouting America.
Submission responsibilities
Submitters must provide information they reasonably believe is accurate, have permission to publish submitted names and photos, and avoid confidential, unsafe, defamatory, infringing, or misleading material. Historical projects may be submitted by Scouts, family members, unit leaders, beneficiaries, or others with sufficient knowledge and permission.
Moderation
EagleBase may approve, reject, return, edit, unpublish, or remove content to protect privacy, safety, accuracy, legal rights, and archive quality. Approval does not certify every statement as independently verified.
Project inspiration
Archive content may be used for general inspiration and research. Users should not copy another candidate’s project plan or present another person’s work as their own.
Accounts
Users are responsible for maintaining account security. Accounts may be restricted for misuse, repeated inaccurate submissions, harassment, unauthorized uploads, or attempts to bypass moderation.
Intellectual property
Submitters retain ownership of their original content while granting EagleBase permission to store, display, resize, and distribute it as part of the archive. Submitters must not upload content they lack permission to use.
No warranty
The service is provided on an as-available basis. EagleBase does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, completeness, or suitability for official advancement decisions.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the platform develops. Material changes should be reflected by an updated effective date.
These initial terms should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before a broad public launch.
