Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026. EagleBase is an independent community archive for Eagle Scout service projects. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how removal requests are handled.

Information collected

Accounts require an email address. Project submissions may include a Scout name, troop or unit, council, beneficiary, city and state, completion year, description, optional volunteer hours, optional impact information, and optional photos. Submitters choose whether the Scout’s public name is shown in full, as first name plus last initial, or anonymously.

Public information

Only approved projects are publicly displayed. Personal email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, birth dates, account identifiers, moderation notes, and report details are not intended for public display.

Youth privacy

Submitters must have permission to publish submitted information and photos. EagleBase does not request exact home addresses, birth dates, school schedules, phone numbers, or private contact information. Submitters should avoid uploading images containing private documents, name tags, addresses, vehicle plates, or other unnecessary identifying information.

Storage and service providers

Account and project data are stored using Supabase. The website is hosted using Vercel. These providers may process technical information necessary to operate the service.

Corrections and removal

Anyone may request correction or removal of project information or photos through the report and removal form. Privacy and safety requests may be prioritized while the matter is reviewed.

Retention

Approved archive records may be retained as long as they remain appropriate for the archive. Account, submission, moderation, and safety records may be retained when necessary for integrity, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Questions and requests should be submitted through the reporting form until a dedicated EagleBase support address is established.

This initial policy is provided for launch preparation and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before a broad public launch.
